I have heard that they are not doing it this year at all. Then I heard they are at the beginning of Dec. Then I heard only a few and you have to wait for an invitation to come in the mail. Does anyone know the real information.

The IMAL loans were discontinued. This was announced by the banks that issued the loans in March of 2007.
If H&R Block or other preparers have a preseason promotion, they have not announced it yet. So the best you can do is wait for the promotion announcement or call your local H&R Block and they may be able to give you the latest information.
They will offer it because they make a killing doing so.
