Six men pleaded not guilty today to securities fraud and conspiracy charges in Brooklyn, New York, federal court and were released on bail. The defendants include 17 current and former stock loan traders at firms including Morgan Stanley, Janney Montgomery, Van der Moolen Specialists USA LLC, A. Among the six indicted in the criminal case today are Peter Sherlock, 36, an ex-trader at New York-based Morgan Stanley, and Andrew Caccioppoli, 47, the former manager of the stock loan desk at Janney Montgomery Scott, Margolin said. A second indictment names Caccioppoli alone in a stock loan conspiracy scheme at Janney Montgomery Scott.
