You must have a web presence of some type. This can take many different forms…a website, blog, forum etc.

Did you know that there are many people who make money online with just a two page website? Your website doesn’t have to be a fancy to make money. You don’t even need to know HTML or have any major web design skills.

Do you know what the single most important thing is your website should do for you? Make sales? Well, you do want to make money right? Sure you do! However…making sales is not the correct answer.

While that is the end objective, it is not the most important thing your website should do for you. Let me explain…

Collect a name and email address. Why?

Because in this day of fast paced living, people tend to click, scan and buy or move on.

Now this would be great if everyone bought from you the first time they came to your site… However that rarely happens. Let’s consider this…

How many times have you clicked a link to visit a site and then gotten interrupted by the door, phone, children etc. before you could even review the information given there?

Do you usually buy something right away, the very first time you go to a site? Or, do you take some time to read thru the info presented and maybe return to the site several times before you ever pull out that credit card?

If you are collecting an name and email from your visitors, you can always follow up with them, just in case they got interrupted by life and forgot all about your site and the information they ran across.

I have a habit of book-marking things I want to go back to eventually…someday when I have more time. Maybe you do the same thing. If so, I wonder if you are like me and have a totally useless bookmark that you never get back

If you have a way to collect a name and email at your site, (preferably the only option) then you are able to keep your name, product, or business in front of that person thru emails.
